The democrats had their revolt in 1968 but that was at the nominating convention. There was also an effort to derail Howard Dean but it wasn't necessary after the scream that was heard around the world..:-)

I've never seen anything like the republican establishment going after Newt Gingrich.the right wing blog "The Drudge Report" put a several hit pieces out on Newt....Several prominent republicans are submitting letters, statements and memos showing that President Reagan had little regard for Newt and vice versa...Before last night's debate, Newt had mentioned Reagan 55 times in 18 debates...Newt style reminds me of Rudy Giuliani ,only Newt touts his laundry list of "I" and sprinkles in a some Reagan instead of a constant 9/11....Newt going for a colony on the moon to be the 51st state..There goes your chance,Puerto Rico..:-) -

That's interesting, I never thought much about it until I saw small debate between Romney's surrogate, former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, and MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell....After Mr. Pawlenty said that we needed a businessman in the White House, Lawrence O'Donnell asked him to name one and businessmen to be elected president of the United States...Pawlenty, looked stunned, struggled a little bit then named used his Reagan card(always hand for a republican) and said Ronald Reagan, he knew that wasn't satisfactory, so then he went on to name Lincoln and finally Washington.... Truth is, we've never had a business man elected to office.. We don't have a baseline to pull data from, it's all speculation.
