Former University of Houston-Victoria President Tim Hudson is one of three final candidates to become the chancellor of Arkansas State University at its flagship campus in Jonesboro.
After serving as UHV's president from 2004 to 2010, Hudson was reassigned to the UH system, serving as a special assistant to the chancellor.
By August, Hudson had moved on to Texas Tech University, where he's the vice-chancellor.
Arkansas State University announced the final three candidates in a news release Thursday. The candidates will interview on campus in February with the hopes of naming the chancellor by the end of the month, according to the news release.
The other two finalists are John Beehler, founding provost and vice president for academic excellence and student successes at the University of North Texas at Dallas; and Soraya Coley, provost and vice president for academic affairs and interim vice president for university advancement at California State University-Bakersfield.
