The intersection of Loop 463 and Lone Tree Road will soon see a new traffic light.
Texas Department of Transportation plans to have the project, which is expected to improve safety near the Caterpillar plant site, complete by March.
F&W Electrical Contractors, of Floresville, was awarded the bid at $94,037.65.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow signs when driving through the work zone.
For more information, contact Roman Trumble Hill, public information officer for Texas Department of Transportation, at 361-293-4350.

WOW!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! (well, maybe not for Victoria)
Can someone please tell me "who in the world makes these idiotic decisions??!!??"
They build a "Loop" then put a light on it, which took a couple of months for them to time it properly (left hand light stayed on excessively long after the last car passed & people coming up Mockingbird making right turns are looong gone by the time the light turns green again), and now they are spending millions of tax money to build an overpass that should've been there initially.
We just read in this paper on a completion date and I'm thinking "FINALLY, I won't have to put up with this crud anymore!
NOW I READ THIS!!!
As I said: UNBELIEVABLE!!!
February 1, 2012 at 3:02 p.m.what loop?
February 1, 2012 at 9:16 a.m.I suggest the city repair and expand John Stockbauer south of Business 59 and reroute the Caterpillar traffic in that direction.
February 1, 2012 at 8:34 a.m.Or build a "real" loop.
January 31, 2012 at 7:38 p.m.What part of a loop do they not understand? It's bad enough we have a light at mockingbird! A loop means continued flow of traffic and whoever the powers that be, need to rethink calling it a loop if they are putting a light at every intersection!!
