Victoria 4-H Rifle team places third at state meet

A Victoria 4-H Rifle team competed in the Texas 4-H Roundup Indoor Rifle Match on June 13 in Llevelland. Of the 28 teams state-wide, the Victoria team placed third overall with a score of 1,576. All team members and the coach received plaques. Members of the rifle team are, from left, Aaron Portis, who placed third; Kayla Pugh, 41st; Samuel Portis, fifth; and Kaitlynn Edwards, 22nd. Aaron and Samuel are the sons of Stanley and Audra Portis, of Victoria. Kayla is the daughter of Thomas and Paulette, of Inez. Kaitlynn is the daughter of Kelly Edwards, of Victoria, and Laura Edwards, of Houston.
