Rent should not be so high for working people

Editor, the Advocate:

I want to comment on an article on the TV news about rent for homes in and around Victoria going up 5 to 10 percent. These people that came here to work in the oil patch are not rich people they are just hard working people trying to make a living. If any of you have worked in the oil patch in your life, you know what it's like. It is hard, dirty work and sometimes dangerous. If you had to pay $1,000 or more for rent plus a car payment, gas, utilities, groceries, medical, insurance, could you make it? Lets quit taking advantage of people who work for a living. Also, the roads are being used so we all can have gas and oil. If the governing people would use all the tax money taken in for the roads instead of other usage, who knows what. Believe me, those big trucks pay big time road tax and fuel tax and most of the cost of gas for autos is tax.
