JC Penney shoppers have a chance to support the troops this month through their purchases with the nationwide retailer.
Customers can round their purchases up to the nearest dollar amount through the end of the month, with 100 percent of that change going to the United Service Organization, according to a JC Penney news release.
The USO is a nonprofit, congressionally-chartered organization dedicated to lifting the spirits of the United States troops and their families.
In addition to its round-up donations, JC Penney will donate $1 million to the organization, according to the release. The store will also give $1 to the USO - up to $50,000 - for each customer who checks in to one of its retail stores via Foursquare between July 23 and 31.
Victoria's JC Penney is located inside the Victoria Mall, 7802 N. Navarro St. For more information, call 361-578-1511.
