Victoria residents will soon have one more place to calm those Mexican food cravings.
La Fogata Bar & Grill opens Monday at 13861 US Highway 77 North, in the former LuRaq's building.
The eatery will offer traditional Mexican food and steaks, along with a few signature dishes, owner Ramon Menendez said. The Mexican chicken-fried steak, for instance, is topped with cheese and meat, and thrown into the oven for good measure.
"We're a little bit different than other Mexican restaurants," Menendez said. "We think it will be very, very good."
Menendez, who also owns Yoakum's Mi Tierra Mexican Cafe, said he looked forward to his new venture. Victoria is a big city, he said, and it continues to grow.
He said the goal was to offer menu options residents didn't have available.
"We want customers to come in and walk out happy," he said. "We're very excited."
