Victoria man acquitted of DWI charge
A 64-year-old Victoria man was acquitted Wednesday of charges of driving while intoxicated.
A County Court-At-Law No. 2 jury found Frederick Oneal Jones not guilty of the misdemeanor charge.
The trial began Tuesday morning.
The retired man was arrested on the charge on Dec. 15 by Victoria Police Department officers.
Jones was represented by defense attorney Constance Filley Johnson, while Assistant District Attorney Luther Easley, of the Victoria County District Attorney's Office, prosecuted the case.
Judge Laura Weiser presided over the case.
Because of the not guilty verdict, Texas law provides that Jones is eligible to have all records of his arrest and charges expunged from his record.
