Michelle Caballero, holding her 2-year-old son Marcus, speaks to her son Christopher Baker, 6, as he attended to by EMS before being transported to Citizens Medical Center.

Two people were treated and released from Citizens Medical Center after a wreck at North Ben Wilson and East Forrest streets on Saturday afternoon.

Michelle Caballero, 26, was attempting to turn right onto Ben Wilson from East Forrest Street, when Patrick Schulze's motorcycle crashed into her white Nissan Altima. The wreck occurred at 1:28 p.m.

"I have pain in my chest. It happened so fast," she said. "I didn't see anything."

Schulze, 42, of Victoria, and Christopher Baker, 6, who was in Caballero's car, were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Caballero had six occupants in the car, police said.

Police officer Blair Cerny said Schulze's speed could not be determined at the time of the impact, but it didn't appear to be excessive.

Schulze, 42, was not wearing a helmet and received a bump on his head, he said.

The other passengers, who were also minors, were checked by paramedics.

Members of the Victoria Fire Department gave them stuffed animals and fire hats to help calm them down.

"We believe she didn't see him coming," Cerny said.

The roads were damp from the earlier rain, but did not appear to be a factor in the wreck.

Cerny added no citations have been issued, but the investigation is ongoing.
