Caroline Williams was transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center about 9:40 p.m. following a two-vehicle rollover accident on US Highway 87 near Farm-to-Market Road 2615.
Williams' 2001 BMW 325i flipped twice after striking the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Victoria resident Robert Daniel Austin, Department of Public Safety Trooper Ronald Johnson said.
Johnson said Austin was traveling south on U.S. 87. when his truck hit something on the road. Austin turned on his hazard lights and slowed to pull over to the shoulder.
Williams, traveling south on the same highway in the inside lane, then hit the Avalanche from behind. Both vehicles flipped twice, and the truck landed on its side.
Williams was temporarily pinned inside her vehicle and the Lone Tree Fire Department removed the driver's side doors to remove her from the car.
Johnson said Williams was conscious and bleeding from the mouth when emergency medical officials arrived on scene, but appeared to be in stable condition.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the wreck. Johnson said no citations were issued, pending further investigation. As of 11 p.m., Williams was in stable condition at Citizens.
