• David Davis was recently helped by Family Endeavors, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans and their families with housing, after they discovered that he was living in a backyard shed without doors, windows, plumbing or electricity. After hardships arose at three different locations that agreed to allow Davis to rent an apartment and then rescinded the offer, the organization was able to find him a one bedroom apartment complete with appliances and an air conditioning unit. • David Davis, originally from Medford, Ore., once owned an antique store in Rockport and later in Goliad where he pursued his passion for collecting art. More recently however, the 76-year-old former U.S. Marine became homeless, calling home a dirty, cluttered, door-less shed. His luck changed for the better in late May when Family Endeavors, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans and their families with housing, received a call about Davis and helped him find an apartment. Davis moved into a Victoria apartment with all of the amenities in early July. Published at 10:51pm
