Generals drop third straight game

The Generals lost their third straight, falling to the Pump Jacks 6-3 at Driller Park in Kilgore.

Generals starter Dillon Newman, who entered the game riding a scoreless streak stretching back 18 innings, was roughed up early. East Texas knocked the Baylor pitcher around for four first-inning runs.

UTSA product Carter Mangum led the Generals, going 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. He was the only member of the Generals with multiple hits.

East Texas' Kash Kalkowski and Taylor Murphy each had three hits in the game.
