Apartment fire displaces one resident

An apartment building in the 1900 block of Lawndale Avenue caught  fire Saturday afternoon.  Capt. Shawn Rainey with the Victoria Fire Department said the fire started with some trash outside.

An apartment in the 1900 block of Lawndale Avenue was damaged Saturday afternoon when trash caught on fire outside and traveled to the corner unit.

The man who lived in the unit was assisted by the American Red Cross Crossroads Chapter with a hotel room.

The fire was at the Victoria Village Apartments.

The cause has not been determined and an investigation will continue, said Victoria Fire Department Capt. Shawn Rainey.

No one was injured.
