  • This is a "danged if you do, danged if you don't", scenerio.
Most of us are Christian's and believe in helping those less fortunate than we are, but the time is coming that unless we start thinking about the consequences of having a open border, then we will all go down the tubes.
America cannot even support it's own people anymore, so how are we going to support the world, while losing jobs to those that come into this Country illegally?
It's a no-win situation being aggravated by lawbreakers, both corportate and human.

  • First of we are a nation of laws!!! They should be deported, but the real problem is we need to find out who they were going to work for and make that person responsible for all the cost, down to the last gallon of gas used, and then throw that person under the jail!!! If the penalties of cheating the tax payer out of his an her money Is not a crime?? I mean wow, let's bust a guy for smoking pot, lol but let's let the people who hire illegals get away with it!! If theres no illegal jobs, there will be no illegal people here, common sense is gone. I have no problem with Mexican or canadian labor but dammit pay f...ing taxes, your killing us who do pay. We need legalized pot to stop the drug rings, we need better relations with our neighbors, we can set up $6 hr wages and take $2 for taxes like it come work, don't stay home just an example? but people who hire illegals need very stiff tax evasion penalties, prob is most dumbasses who do it are greedy rich lawyers an doctors enough said

  • Besides the fact of them being in our country illegal...there were 23 people in on truck...illegal also! There were many helicopters lifting them to Corpus, San Antonio and Victoria hospitals...at who's cost? The hospital bills at who's cost? So should we invite them to stay and furnish them a home, food stamps, pay their bills...etc? What about the Americans that have had similar crashes (with lots fewer people in the vehicle) that struggle to pay a hospital bill for the next 10 years. I think they should be stabilized and sent back to their country. I am sorry for the ones that died most definitely and very sorry for the injured but...would you feel the same if they hit your child on the road? ...just saying..

  • ""I believe they should be cared for, then returned to their country," Jackie Dick, receptionist, Victoria"

I agree with the "...returned to their country" but after they pay their medical expenses! Or maybe Jackie Dick can pay for it.

""They should be treated and allowed to stay, just like the rest of us," Tommy Means, Subway, Victoria"

Hey now, Tommy Means, what do you mean "like the rest of us"? My family came here LEGALLY!!!
Maybe someone needs to check Tommys status...

""After everything they've been through, it would be nice if they could be given a green card and allowed to work here," Bob Johnston, retired, Victoria"

Really Bob? They come here illegally, have a wreck and that's good enough for you?
Instead of a green card let's let Bob take care of them!
