Sheriffs to speak at Republican Women of Yoakum meeting

Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon and DeWitt County Sheriff Jody Zavesky will speak at the Republican Women of Yoakum meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Yoakum Community Center, 105 Huck St., Yoakum.
Lunch will be served. Donations will be accepted.
Harmon and Zavesky will speak on law enforcement issues such as illegal immigration, the impact of Eagle Ford exploration on law enforcement, and budget concerns. Both sheriffs are running for re-election on the Republican ballot. They will take questions after their update to the voters.
