Trends: Steers and heifers, steady/softer.

Steers: (200-300) $144-$200; (300-400) $138-$185; (400-500) $121-$160; (500-600) $114-$139; (600-700) $105-$126; and (700-800) $88-$105.

Heifers: (200-300) $136-$182; (300-400) $126-$195; (400-500) $120-$154; (500-600) $108-$132; (600-700) $99-$118; and (700-800) $98-$111.

Receipts: 707

Had 104 cows and 11 bulls. The cow market was better as demand was better and more buyers entering the market in the midwest and some rains in the midwest eased some of the drought pressures in that area of the country.

The bull market was steady.

The calf market was much improved. The lighter calves were again higher. The whole calf market was an average of $2-$4 higher than last week. The better end was even higher. Had good activity from all buyers as even the heifers were stronger.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $83-$95; lower grades, $65-$75.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$73.50; boning cows, $68-$76; canners and cutters, $64-$88; light and weak, $40-$60.

Palpated dry cows: $850-$1,150; pairs: $930-$1,490.
