Brooke Villafranca and Nicholas Vera, both of Aubrey, TX, were married at 4 p.m. on July 21, 2012 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Victoria, TX. Fr. Stan Deboe, of Victoria, officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Kathy Villafranca, of Victoria, TX. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and the late Patsy Burns, of Port Lavaca, TX, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Villafranca, of Victoria, TX.

The groom is the son of Willie and Norma Vera, of Victoria, TX. He is the grandson of Mrs. Nieves Flores and the late Jesus Flores, Sr., of Victoria, TX, and the late Willie and Petra Vera, Sr., of Yoakum, TX.

Katie Villafranca, of Victoria, TX, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nichole Herrera, of Austin, TX, sister of the groom, Christine Oladoyin, of Houston, TX, friend of the bride, Amanda Salinas, of San Antonio, TX, friend of the bride, Amberlee Sterling, of Dallas, TX, friend of the bride, and Nyomi Villafranca, of Houston, TX, cousin of the bride.

Olivia Vera, of Fort Worth, TX, niece of the groom, and Malea Wells, of Homestead, FL, cousin of the groom, attended as flower girls.

Steven Baca, of Austin, TX, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Gomez, of Victoria, TX, friend of the groom, Joel Swanstrom, of Denton, TX, friend of the groom, Christopher Vera, of Fort Worth, TX, brother of the groom, William Vera, of Victoria, TX, brother of the groom, and John Villafranca, of Victoria, TX, brother of the bride.

Jacob Villafranca, of Victoria, TX, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Ushers were Kirby Cattan, of Victoria,TX, friend of the groom, Ernest Escalante, of Victoria, TX, uncle of the bride, Richard Flores, of Fort Riley, KS, uncle of the groom, and Fernando Herrera, of Austin, TX, brother-in-law of the groom.

A reception was held following the ceremony at Club Westerner in Victoria, TX. The couple will enjoy a relaxing honeymoon in Hawaii, on the Island of Maui.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of St. Joseph High School, a 2008 graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Texas with Masters Degrees in English and Secondary Education. She is currently employed at Lake Dallas High School as an English teacher.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Memorial High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He is currently employed by Walgreens in Aubrey, TX as a pharmacy technician.
