Voters should be able to vote in both primaries

Editor, the Advocate:

I am thinking about the disadvantage to both parties of not being able to vote a split ticket in the primary elections.

Most people vote for whomever they feel will do the best job in an office without any bearing on whether they are Democrat or Republican, and I feel that most of the candidates feel the same way.

Why can't we have just one election with a runoff?

The incumbents would not have to guess which is the most popular party, as is happening now.
