Trends: Steers and heifers, steady/high.

Steers: (200-300) $190-$250; (300-400) $171-$210; (400-500) $163-$197; (500-600) $153-$183; (600-700) $127-$152; and (700-800) $114-$137.

Heifers: (200-300) $166-$235; (300-400) $154-$185; (400-500) $156-$181; (500-600) $139-$167; (600-700) $129-$150; and (700-800) $106-$123.

Receipts: 1,230

Had 133 cows and 14 bulls. The cow and bull market was up to $7/cwt lower across the board as product movement remains slow causing an increase in inventories. The calf market was steady on all classes except lighter weight, fleshy calves were weaker. Heavy classes of calves continue to be very strong and in some individuals, higher. Thinner types continue to top the market.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $95.50-$105.50; lower grades, $60-$85.

Packer cows: Boning cows, $65-$80; cutters, $65-$90; canners, $50-$75.

Dry cows: $60-$89; young: $75-$99; pairs: most were split as dry conditions weakened market.

Steer calves: (under 200) $188-$265; (200-250) $223-$235; (250-300) $225-$231; (300-350) $182-$199;(350-400) $175-$198; (400-450) $174-$196;(450-500) $146-$174; (500-600) $150-$177; (600-700) $137-$165; (700-800) $136-$144.

Compared to our last sale: Calves and yearlings sold steady to $1 higher. Packer cows sold steady.

Bull yearlings: (700-900) $118-$124.

Compared to last week: The calf market continues good in all areas. Demand particularly good on the better kinds.

Packer cows and bulls sold $3 to $4 lower on about 140 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $79-$93; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $66-$79; light weight canner cows, $54-$66.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $100-$109; utility and cutter bulls, $86-$100; light weight canner bulls, $75-$86.
