On Wednesday, June 6, 2012 Lt. Lewis reported that on Tuesday June 5, 2012 around 4:30 p.m., being in the right place at the right time helped him and Sgt. Stephen Lunsford recover a stolen 2002 Ford F-250 pickup. Lewis said while him and Sgt Lunsford was delivering a patrol car to another officers residence, they saw approximately 7 males take off running from a pickup parked in a field off River Oak Road. Lewis said with the assistance from Matagorda County Sheriff Department all of the suspects were apprehended and turned over to Bay City Police Detectives. All of the suspects turned out to juveniles except one. Lewis said 4 of the juveniles were transported to Victoria Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Unauthorized Use Of A Motor Vehicle. The other three were released to their parents. Lewis said the pickup was reported stolen to the Police Department on June 3, 2012. Detective Juan Delgado is the lead Detective on the case.
In other news Lt. Lewis reported around 1:00 a.m. on June 7, 2012 a verbal altercation between a female and her boyfriend landed 27 year old Ieshia Williams from Bay City in jail charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and her boyfriend being taken to Matagorda Regional Medical Center with several injuries after he was ran over and pinned underneath a car driven by Ieshia Williams. The incident took place in the 1700 block of Willow.
Lt. Lewis also reported that the storage facility fire in the 4900 block of 7th street that occurred on June 1, 2012 has been officially closed. Lewis said Detectives were able to connect the 60 year old male who took his own life in the 900 block of 7th to the fire. Lewis said State Fire Marshal Chris Johnson assisted with the investigation. Bay City Police Detective Maria Guajardo was the lead detective on the case.
