Roy D. Griffin, General Manager of Jackson Electric Cooperative, Inc., recently delivered a check for $8,279.09 to the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation (EDC). The electric co-op has funds available each year that can be designated for scholarships and economic development purposes. Jackson Electric Co-op granted scholarships this year and made this contribution to support economic development activities in Matagorda County. The gift is significant and will support the work of the Matagorda County EDC in trying to attract new industrial companies to Matagorda County. The EDC also works to attract new providers of needed tourism infrastructure and to expand our agricultural sector by bringing in new users for locally grown products. "Matagorda County can grow and prosper by developing great partnerships like this one" said Mitch Thames, President of the Matagorda County E. D. C.
The Matagorda County EDC Board of Directors sincerely appreciates the support of Jackson Electric Cooperative and the opportunity to work with the Co-op on economic development projects of mutual benefit.
