BCFYI: City view from Mayor Pro Tem

Council Members Anthony Hawkins and Joseph D. Enoch received a plaque from Mayor Mark Bricker at the June 14, 2012 City Council meeting honoring each of them for their services to the City of Bay City. Thank you Council Member Hawkins and thank you Council Member Enoch for your countless hours of service to the City of Bay City!

Newly elected City Council Member Julie Estlinbaum and Council Member Bill Cornman were sworn in to Position 1 and Position 2, respectively.

I was elected by City Council as Mayor Pro Tem.

Mayor Bricker presented a Proclamation for Myasthenia Gravis Awareness Month to Simon DeSoto.

Council approved an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1372 by revising the local amendments to the International Building Code regarding of, and minimum insurance and bond requirements for building contractors by removing the minimum insurance requirements for building contractors; providing for a cumulative and conflicts clause, providing for a severability clause; and providing for an effective date.

City Council approved the re-appointments of Cheryl Stewart, Randy McElroy and Kelsey Granberry to the Bay City Community Development Corporation Board. I was appointed to the BCCDC Board.

A $3000.00 grant from the City of Bay City and the required Ordinance to the 2011-2012 Budget to support tourism and hotel industry for the Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament was approved by City Council.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for fiscal year ending September 30, 2012 was approved by Council. The City of Bay City received a Clean Opinion.

City Council held a Workshop on June 18, 2012, on Charter Review Committee Selection. Six (6) Charter Review Committee Member Nominations have been chosen with three (3) nominations to follow.
