The Bay City Youth Football Association will be holding registration for both tackle football every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at the Service Center from 6-7:30 p.m. for the month of June 2012. Traveling Memorial Wall
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall. Citizens of Wharton County join together to honor all who have bravely served our country and remember the fallen soldiers of the Vietnam War. A Veteran's Hospitality tent for all Veteran's will be set up throughout the event with complimentary water and refreshments. a special ceremony will be held Saturday, July 14 @ 9am. Lions Club 4th of July Celebration
This will be the 63rd year that the Palacios Lions Club will hold this event. The celebration will begin with a flag raising ceremony at 9am and continue through the day with The LaSalle reenactment, a kid's parade, BBQ, carnival rides and ending with a huge band of fireworks. Palacios at 9 a.m. July 4.
SHARP Training Course
Sexual Harassment And Rape Prevention training hosted by Bay City Police Department and the Bay City Chamber of Commerce. Open to women ages 15 and older. Techniques will be taught in principles and strategies for effectively reducing the likelihood of assault through both confrontation avoidance and counter attack. Contact instructor Sgt. Texas Hold'em 2012 Fundraiser
Presented as a fundraiser for Palacios Chamber of Commerce. Seafood dinner served starting at 11am, Main Event seating starts at 1pm. Annual Eagle Lake Field Day Set for June 26.
This year marks the 38th annual field day June 26 at the David R. Wintermann Rice Research Station, 3 miles northwest of Eagle Lake on Farm to Market Road 102.The field tours at the research station will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tours of the facility will include varietal improvement, insect management, disease management, weed management, and herbicide updates.The evening program will begin at 6:30p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center with Dr. Joe Outlaw, Professor and Extension Economist, discussing farm policy development, and Steve Balas, L.C.R.A. Board of Directors, talking about water issues. Licensed private, commercial, and non-commercial pesticide applicators (TDA licensees only) participating in this field day tour may obtain 1 Laws & Regulations and 1 General continuing education credits for recertification. Wharton County Health Fair
The theme this year is "Living Healthy For Life". It's designed to educate and promote health care services while promoting all the resources available to area residents. There will be "Ask the Doctor" booths, free health screenings, a ton of information, refreshments, door prizes, Bingo starting at 1:30 and even children's activities. Salute to First Responders
Organized by the Matagorda County Sheriff's Association. as a "thank you" to the people that never ask for one. This event will include over 20 first responding organizations, allowing area residents to meet officers, fireman, and EMS personnel and learn about their agency. There will be equipment displays, including the mobile emergency management center, police K-9's, ambulances, patrol boats and helicopters.
