The sponsorship deadline is looming for the annual Mid-coast Hurricane Conference scheduled for the Victoria Community Center on April 26.
The conference serves to educate and prepare the community for disasters related to hurricanes and other hazards.
The conference originally began as training and networking opportunity for first responders and industry representatives prior to hurricane season.
The conference attracted more about 350 attendees in 2011, said Linda May of the Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross, the conference host.
This year, the conference will have some changes and include topics on different kinds of hazards and disasters and provide training that would be of interest to small businesses and home owners.
The conference will also continue to have training sessions tailored for first responders and industry representatives.
Registration dates to attend the conference will be announced later this month.
