The women of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrated 128 years of women's work at Trinity on Feb. 18, with a salad luncheon and entertainment with Mannon Mints.
Special guests included all the past presidents, members of the church council and the pastoral staff.
Four prayer shawls were donated to the pink firetruck for cancer patients receiving treatments. A thank you note was read and yarn donated to the group to be used in making more shawls.
Sixty quilts have been completed for Lutheran World Relief. The quilts are displayed at the church, and were blessed at a Sunday worship service.
Enough items have been collected and bagged for 50 school bags and 30 health kits.
Bars of soap, cloth and thread for sewing kits are being collected.
Three yards of cotton or cotton blend fabric and two spools of thread are needed for each sewing kit. Barbara Zimmerman reported that love offerings were collected at church services on Sunday, Feb. 5; more than $200 was collected.
Plans are ongoing for the Confirmation breakfast on April 1. The Confirmands and their families are invited.
