A Texas Department of Transportation employee was injured Thursday when his dump truck rolled on U.S. Highway 77 between Refugio and Woodsboro about 11 a.m. Thursday.

The employee was traveling to a job site on Farm-to-Market Road 1360 in Refugio County when he swerved to avoid a head-on collision, causing his load of cold mix asphalt to sway and roll over his dump truck, said Tom Tagliabue, public information officer with Texas Department of Transportation in Corpus Christi.

The injured employee, whose name was not released by the transportation agency, was treated at a Corpus Christi hospital, Tagliabue said.
