Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice
Thumbs-up to Althea J. Chisholm's comment (letter to the editor, March 8) regarding a distasteful image in the sports section on March 1.
Thumbs-up to the Victoria City Council for supporting the greens at the golf course.
Many folks use that course, not just from Victoria but from all over. Individuals, as well as tournaments benefit.
Thumbs-up to the driver whose trailer load of limbs was secured with at least four stra ps. Thank you for being a responsible citizen and securing your load.
Thumbs-down to the driver of the white pickup whose load of plastic bags was not secured down.
The clear plastic bag that appeared to be full of paper blew out on Farm-to-Market Road 1090 shortly after leaving the Port Lavaca city limits.
It is illegal not to secure your load. Fines for littering should be increased to discourage your type of behavior.
Thumbs-down to photo supervisory staff who allowed this image to be printed.
With all the photographic expertise and advancements, another photo could have been taken to capture the spirit. Oh, would that common sense and wisdom have prevailed.
(By the way, I did read the Spotlight Blogger by Chris Cobler on March 8 pertaining to the photo.)
