Wreck closes Highway 59 for several hours

Traffic is halted at U.S. Highway 59 and Farm-to-Market Road 236 on Saturday following a wreck involving a pickup and a semi-truck. The condition of the drivers and the cause of the wreck were unknown as of Saturday evening.

U.S. Highway 59 South was closed for several hours Saturday while Department of Public Safety troopers investigated a two-car wreck.

A semi-truck and a pickup truck were involved in a wreck at U.S. Highway 59 South and Farm-to-Market Road 236 about 11:40 p.m., according to a spokesman from DPS in Corpus Christi.

U.S. Highway 59 South was closed from the 2400 block of Southwest Moody Street, also known as U.S. Highway South, to just south of the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 236 while the wreck was investigated and cleaned up.

The condition of the drivers and the cause of the wreck were unknown Saturday.
