The remnants of a damaged Trailblazer sit at the scene of a wreck on Sunday at the corner of Ben Wilson and North streets. Three teens were hurt.

Three teenage boys were injured in a wreck early Sunday on North Ben Wilson Street.

The boys and two girls, all 16, were traveling south in a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer when the driver lost control for an unknown reason in the 800 block of North Ben Wilson Street about 3:45 a.m., said Victoria Police Sgt. Eline Moya.

After losing control, the vehicle fishtailed. The right passenger side struck a telephone pole, knocking out a center portion of the pole.

The sport utility vehicle then struck a fire hydrant, Moya said.

The vehicle continued on, striking the gate pole on the east side of the entrance to Stroman Middle School. It then continued through the intersection and came to rest on the sidewalk in the 700 block of North Ben Wilson Street, Moya said.

The two girls were not injured. One of the boys was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro and the other two boys were taken to Citizens Medical Center.

One of the boys taken to Citizens Medical Center was admitted with serious injuries, Moya said.

The other two boys were treated and released, she added.

Police will not release the names of any of the teens involved until the wreck investigation is completed, Moya said.
