Bay City Police Department Crime Round up

Lt. Lewis reported that on Saturday, March 25, 2012 Bay City Police was summoned to a home in the 2200 block of Marguerite to investigate vandalism to a campaign yard sign. Lewis said perpetrator placed three dead rabbits at the base of the campaign sign. Lewis said perpetrator(s) also smeared the animal’s intestines all over the sign. Lewis is asking anyone with information into this crime please contact the Bay City Police Department at 979-245-8500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1800-299-2878 you will may be eligible for a cash reward leading to the arrest or Grand Jury indictment of suspect(s).

Lt. Lewis reported on Friday, March 23, 2012 in the early morning hours members of The Bay City Police Department participated in a Special Operation (Rise and Shine). The operation was geared to serve outstanding criminal and traffic warrants. Lewis said the operation resulted in 28 warrants served. Eight of the warrants were criminal. Lewis reported 12 people were arrested during the operation. Lewis said one of the 12 was 40 year old Rita Alameda who was arrested for 8 counts of Credit Card Abuse. Alameda was the perpetrator whom Detective Scott Sherrill identified that stole a credit card off a counter of a department store in the 4000 block of 7th and used it several times at various locations here in Bay City. Lewis stress to citizens who have outstanding warrants to contact Bay City Municipal Court at 979-245-0035 or Bay City Police Department at 979-245-8500 or run the risk of being arrested. Lt Lewis gives great praises to Warrant Officer Edward Guzman for heading up the operation; he was assisted by Officer’s Vicky Pursley, Corporal Richard Alvarado, Detective Juan Delgado, Sergeant Victor Hadash, Corporal Richard Morales and Officer Keith Hatton.

In other news Lewis said on Sunday March 25, 2012 Officer Christopher Cunningham arrested 25 year old Raydon Sharpe at his home in Bay City. Lewis said Sharpe was charged with Burglary Of A Habitation after he broke into a home in the 3100 block off Ave G on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Lewis said the homeowner told officers that he saw the perpetrator coming upstairs and yelled at him to stop. Perpetrator ignored the order and continued. Homeowner fired one shot striking the assailant.
