Laureate Alpha Omicron holds meeting

Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Joann Locher with Loretta Johnson presiding.
Sue Lynn Hatcher and Betty Mercer served as co-hostesses.
Mrs. Hatcher read a letter from the international office informing her that she was eligible to receive the Golden Circle Ritual, an honor which is bestowed on 50-year members. Secretary, Anne Roddy, announced that Louise Pletcher is eligible for the masters degree.
Mrs. Pletcher, parliamentarian, read from the book of Beta Sigma Phi on parliamentary procedure.
Committee reports were given. Founder's Day will be observed April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Golden Corral Restaurant.
New officers were elected as follows: Frances Smith, president; Marcy Turk, vice-president; Loretta Johnson, recording secretary; Joann Locher, corresponding secretary; Tootsie Cisneros, treasurer; Dorothy Koenig, extension officer; Delores Kaspar and Jeanette Goggans, city council representatives; and Louise Pletcher, parliamentarian.
Mrs. Locher showed a video of last summer's state convention held in Austin showing costumes, entertainment, meetings and an impressive closing ritual.
A "Not a St. Patrick's Day Party" was held Saturday at the home of Gene Evans. Eighteen members and guests attended the taco soup supper.
The next meeting is set for April 3 in the Smith home.
