  • He is most likely a doomsday prep-per and just getting his before the rest of us storm in and clean it all out. Not that money will matter anyway.

  • The man robbed a bank. He threatened an innocent bank teller with a gun. I might feel sorry for the dog in the back of the getaway truck because he has a real piece of scum for an owner. But the guy robs some one because he is down on his luck and we should feel sorry for him. He seems to have a direct effect on his luck with his retirement plan.

Okay! I glad there's SOMETHING that is not George Bush's fault.

  • very true I thought about that myself after I wrote the post. I feel sorry for the guy he must be desperate. Listening to all this talk about millions and millions of dollars up for grabs. Some people are so despondent they do strange things other wise they wouldn't dream of doing. Hope he has somebody to talk to

  • BigMac: ""looking at the photograghs the police should have a lot of fingerprints to go off of. He put his whole hand on the door as he exited the building"

Yes, and how many others grabbed that same door and placed their prints over the top of his?

Just because someone may have left some prints does not automatically mean the police will get a good clean usable set off of them. A good start but far from certain.

  • Where are the other pictures of this guy? Someone said something about seeing him put his hand on the door as he left...where did you see that at? I was wondering if they were able to get any pictures of his face and if not, couldn't the teller that saw him give a description so they could draw up a picture of his face? This guy needs to be stopped before someone gets hurt.

  • "Just ask the lady, in another state, who was licensed to carry and decided not too. She watch her parents and other customers get gunned down in a bank and she was only about 15 feet from the robber. She could have stopped him/her."

Completely different response when those training targets can shoot and kill back and you do not even have a vest on. I would say that a person going through situation that they would need to think really about what they are doing, never know, she could have provided the criminal with another gun.

Reminds me of the person we worked with that stated they were not scared of heights and how they do it all the time and they can do the job. Great! We can use another pair of hands. Six stories up that person is frozen, and we cannot talk them down, three hours wasted and a ladder truck later we find out the truth.

  • Bank robbery in Victoria should be pretty easy. Was the robbery one block from the police station ever solved?

  • nlj,
CHL holders have plenty of traing and rules to go by. They just can't shoot someone because they have a gun. If they make the hard decision to stop someone, they are responsible for where the bullet finishes its path.

What if he/she, the robber, was to start shooting people in the lobby and the next person they aim their gun at is you. Would you rather be shot or have a well trained CHL holder stop him/her? Just ask the lady, in another state, who was licensed to carry and decided not too. She watch her parents and other customers get gunned down in a bank and she was only about 15 feet from the robber. She could have stopped him/her.

  • Most peoples reaction is shoot him dead. I would probably have that first thought also, but reality setting in it is best to let them do the crime and leave, try and get as much detail about the person, their actions, voice tone and what they are driving, which direction they took off. I mean it's not your money, it is insured and greed sets in with bank robbers they will screw up somewhere. It's the FBI's problem.

Take notice Victoria banks it will happen again, putting up more cameras doesn't stop robbers. Other robbers notice when banks in smaller towns don't use dye packs!!

  • So... The robbery was reported at 2:30 and the guy walked in at 3:30... The teller must have been psychic!

  • “This is why they should allow certified CHL carrier to carry in banks. A robber would think twice if he thought that a possible carrier was in the building standing next to him or in the same room.”

I doubt that the average robber would give it much thought at all. Besides, who would have shot him? Did anybody besides the teller know he had a gun? Even if the teller were allowed to carry a concealed weapon to work, somehow I doubt that her supervisors would require, or even remotely desire him or her to whip it out and shoot an armed robber while the crook is inside their lobby full of paying customers–I don’t think tellers get training on that and I’d argue that neither do many CHL holders. I’d object to it even more if I were in line behind the robber – I don’t want to accidently get shot by some hotshot CHL yahoo who thinks it’s a good idea to shoot up crowded bank lobbies just because he can

  • This is why they should allow certified CHL carrier to carry in banks. A robber would think twice if he thought that a possible carrier was in the building standing next to him or in the same room. All the places we are not allowed to carry are where most gun points happen.
