  • I would put more credit into the voice forensics if both had been tested. I am sure someone has a video with the boy's voice. Why have hasn't it been analyzed?
I have no opinion on who was right or wrong as I don't feel we have all the facts. I think it needs further investigation but to jump on either bandwagon without proof either way shows ignorance.

  • There is some question about who's voice is heard on the 911 tape yelling for help. Two audio forinsics examinations indicates it was not Mr. Zimmerman's voice. This is based on recordings of his voice and there have not been any examples of Mr. Martin's voice to test.

  • Here is a good read about some of the media run amuck in this case.

How do you find justice? Well it certainly shouldn't be from listening to or jumping on the bandwagon of the extremely biased persons speaking about it or reporting on it.

Anyone here jump on that bandwagon?

  • New video evidence confirms Zimmerman had a gash on the back of his head when he entered the police station.

  • Radiobabe.

President did the right thing by commenting. If he didn't people like yourself would still complain and whine. If you want to talk about leadership, then stop supporting so-called local leaders you keep on voting for. No wonder Matt Ocker was being hard on you.

  • If he isn't white, then why are the white supremacists defending him?

  • If Zimmerman felt he could not defend himself any other way than by using his handgun, then it was legal for him to do so. Being clobbered upside the head unexpectedly can have the effect of giving a distinct advantage in a fight to the person throwing the punch, be he big or small. It is being reported that Martin followed that punch up by slamming Zimmerman's head against the ground, all this before being shot by Zimmerman who fired from the ground? Sounds like self-defense to me, IF the information we are receiving is accurate.

  • "Race" is widely misused as a term to describe someone.
Culture or origin might be a better term.
The race white includes Irish, German, English, Syrian, Lebanese, Jewish, Hispanic, Egyptian, Saudi and even African, not just the Dutch South Africans, some actually slave decedents.

To be classified as "white", a person might be sunshine white, all the way to as dark as what is called the "black" race.
Hispanics can be any color at all, they identify with their origins.
Blacks can be from hundreds of countries just like whites anywhere from the middle east to Africa, the Caribbean, South America, Mexico ect.
In other words the word "race" is way over used, and actually has no meaning at all.

  • Mr. Obama stepped into this mess when he commented. To me, his lack of leadership in this situation shows that he's playing politics with a racially charged situation. I would expect the leader of our nation to be the voice of reason in this situation, not to sit quietly on the sidelines so he doesn't aggrevate his base.

  • It's ok vet43, the white haters have started to die down a bit now that they realized their mistake. It will be a couple of weeks yet but we should be able to get back to what this case is really all about.

Now if Obama tosses in another little jab into the fray it may take a bit longer.

  • Chucky,

Hispanic is not now, never has been and never will be a race.

This is about an armed adult male and an unarmed minor male where the minor is shot and killed.

And your right. President Obama is bi-racial so if he chose to he could call himself "white" or black. Most of us are bi-racial to some extent. Makes for a great country!

  • "White haters" is a bit harsh and really makes the race issue part of the problem when it should be about an unarmed 17 YO being shot to death. An just to be clear, Mr. Zimmerman is a "white guy".

If you say Zimmerman is white then that makes Obama white. They each have the same percentage of "whiteness" in their blood.

Jackson, Shaprton and their crew make a living on feeding racism back into the media. Without racism they would be out of a job. They are more criminals than Zimmerman ever could be accused of being. They profit on putting others down and keeping them there.

  • Obama's statement did not say he sided against Zimmerman, please watch it. He said every parent in America would want an investigation into such a tragedy. His statement was made before all the other groups (the circus); you can't expect him to make comments every time something new happens in this case. He said let the investigation take its course. White haters? Your words or the right wing "lets constantly gin up hate to divide this country" group?

    March 31, 2012 at 1:17 p.m.
  • You have to be careful here, mentioning Obama's statement regarding this issue will get you some hate filled reply because according to some, Obama's statement had no effect on fanning the flames here. I disagree but thats just me.

This was kind of humorous only in the way it so clearly exposed the white haters of the world. They were all screaming about the outrage of another white guy escaping justice after murdering a black man. Then to their surprise, he wasn't a white guy after all. Too late to turn back then, they (the circus) had to continue after Zimmerman.

Zimmerman may very well be found guilty. But lets hope it's because he is and not because of some wild west "hang em high" show going on from the white house all the way down to Florida.

Spike Lee - I have to say this guy is worse than the Black Panthers and Sharpton. All of them are pretty disgraceful.

  • I don't think it's appropriate to comment and point fingers in this case (i.e., is Mr. Zimmerman or Mr. Martin the guilt party) until all the facts are in. However, I'm terribly disappointed in our president for so early taking an apparent position against Mr. Zimmerman but having no words of condemantion against the Black Panthers, Spike Lee, the Reverends Sharpton and Jackson who all are working very hard to turn this into a political issue and taking out an aweful lot of innocent people in the process... such as the retired couple who's address was tweeted by Spike Lee as the address of Mr. Zimmerman.

I don't know what the outcome's going to be, but I would have thought that our president, who represents all of us, would be a voice of calm rather than a voice of division.

  • Yes, there are 2 sides to every story, but only one side is alive to tell it. I wonder if Ms. Brown would have written this if she had seen the videotape of Mr. Zimmerman arriving at the police station in handcuffs (arrested) which does not show a bloody, battered man. She is being partisan about a questionable incident that resulted in a young man's death. Is there any wonder why African-Americans feel race played a part in this man not being charged and judged in court?
