A Victoria man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substances after driving through a neighborhood with two blown tires early Tuesday morning.
James Hopping, 29, was driving through Tanglewood Apartments when the two left tires of his black Ford pickup blew out, said Senior Patrol Officer John Swenson.
Hopping continued driving, leaving tracks where the rims of his tires scraped the pavement, Swenson said. He struck two mailboxes in the 500 block of Maplewood Drive before being arrested in the 700 block of Rosewood Drive.
Initially, Hopping was charged with striking an object worth more than $200, Swenson said.
Cocaine and Xanax were found in Hopping's truck, so the drug charges were added - one count of felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
