This is a critical area of need in our community and I wish to thank the Victoria Advocate of bringing it to the forefront. I am also guilty of beating up on the local media for lack of attention to public issues that we all need to reach out to and help support.
Please reach out to these important but underfunded groups that will be that only reason that some families survive. Caring is the only measure that we are all gauged by so step up and reach out.

Okay, I know I am hard on the VicAd many times, but I also don't hesitate to give credit where credit is due. THIS is the kind of article that should appear front and center. It is local news, it is important, it is well-researched and exceptionally well-written. It is very informative; I learned several things about our community that I did not know before.
Good job, Victoria Advocate, and kudos to Sonny Long for always keeping us informed on what's happening in the non-profit sector. THIS is an article worthy of a good newspaper. GREAT JOB!
I do hope HOST is able to recoup some of this money. They are taking a severe hit with this loss. I would be greatly saddened to see their services cut.

I really wish I could help with donations. Hope of South Texas is a very big help to victims and their families!!!! Maybe someone could organize a benefit large enough to make a difference? I would be more than willing to put in time to help with one!
