Having had an episode with one's heart makes you more cognizant of the medical facilities that are close by. My experience in the hospital system of Matagorda County began March 21,1931 as I came into this world. It was a hospital on Marguerite Street, that is now a two-story home.
Four of our children were born in the original small hospital that later became Matagorda General. The site is now a vacant lot. 81 years later it was my privilege to be treated at the new Regional Hospital located on Hwy 35.
We who live in this community need to know that it is a modern facility that has the capability to care or begin care for all medical conditions. The quality of care is equal to any you would find in the major hospitals in Houston. To have a facility such as this in our midst is a blessing.
The staff is superior, compassionate and caring. If you need medical care, use what we have right here in Matagorda County. I would rank it as one of the best medical facilities and you are cared for by people who make you feel at home in your hometown. I would rate the staff, hospital and the administration a five star operation!
