Trinity Lutheran Church Women had their annual Thankoffering service and quarterly meeting.

The program began with a brief history of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Thankoffering and included Bible verse readings, prayers and songs accompanied by Debbie Westphal. Special guests were the Rev. Barney Matocha and Don Angerstein.

A salad luncheon was served after the service. President Betty Dearman presided over the meeting.

Barbara Zimmerman and Pat Miller reported 78 quilts, 61 school kits, 64 health kits, 12 fabric kits and 43 extra pounds of bar soap were shipped for Lutheran World Relief.

Other reports included community growth, which included 75 hospital visits, 176 nursing home and shut-in visits, 69 care cards, 30 care phone calls, 57 cards, letters, and contact with visitors and 19 lay home communions.

Fifty-one "Plates of Love" were delivered and seven prayer shawls were given to the ill.

Plans were discussed for the birthday party at Twin Pines, the making of the United Campus Ministry casseroles and cookies, and the upcoming trip to Brenham.

Tickets are on sale for a king size handmade quilt featuring outdoor scenery and deer and matching shams. Tickets may be purchased from numerous members.
