College Q&A: VC offers summer camps
I want my kids to do something fun and educational this summer. Will Victoria College be offering any type of fun classes?
Yes. Parents can enroll their children in Kids College, where all kinds of fun classes will take place from Monday, June 11, through Monday, Aug. 6. Some of the camps include CSI for Kids, Creative Dance, All Sports Camp and It's Not Just Rocket Science. Ages for participation range from pre-K to high school, depending on the camp.
"This is a chance for kids to learn something new, make new friends and explore their passions and hobbies," said VC Workforce and Continuing Education Director Sherri Pall.
A new class offered this year is Grandparent and Me Digital Photography, which will be held Monday, June 25, through Thursday, June 28.
"A grandparent can come with the child and learn how to take photos with their digital camera together," Pall said. "It's a great opportunity for them to spend quality time and learn something together."
The photography course requires each participant to bring their own camera and cables.
Kids who want to improve their athletic skills can also register for one of the sports camps available. All Sports Camps, for students from first grade through sixth grade, will learn skills in a variety of sports, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball.
Basketball and volleyball camps are also offered for middle school, and high school junior varsity and varsity athletes.
VC is also offering fun online courses, such as Secrets to Better Photography, SAT/ACT Preparation and Drawing for the Absolute Beginner.
