A man driving a black Corvette crashed into an electric pole Tuesday evening in the 1900 block of Stolz Street.
Witnesses said Stan Rosborough, 59, of Victoria, was traveling east on Stolz Street when he ran into the electric pole at 8:07 p.m., said Victoria Police Officer Bryan Knief.
Jordan Pacheco, who was detailing his car at Lone Star Car Wash on Rio Grande Street at the time of the wreck, reported hearing a car engine revving and screeching tires before hearing the wreck.
"It sounded like he was speeding and maybe just lost control," Pacheco said.
Rosborough was unconscious when he was cut out of his car by emergency personnel, Knief said.
He was transported to Citizens Medical Center where a hospital spokeswoman said he remained in critical condition.
