my wife had her own business and she was a slave to it.there's nothing like working for someone else and let them worry about payroll and taxes.

I think one mistake is that people think there is a demand for a service and put all this money into getting started and find out they are just another penny in the bank. It takes years to build a client base, it doesn't happen overnight and the "build it and they will come" does not always work for brick and mortar places.
