  • I'd agree multiple flight destinations would help a lot, I took a trip to NY and wanted to try no driving route. I'll save that money in gas driving round trip, plus having a tollway sticker they add it to my account for parking.

  • If Pinnacle filed for bankruptcy then it seems they would be protected from penalties associated with breaking a contract.
Who is going to pay that much just to fly to Houston and change planes. LMAO Sorry, just doesn't make sense. Not a lot makes sense in this city.

  • Agreed though may have to do runway work for 737. Many airlines do the stop and pickups. It may, however hurt their initial market. Worth exploring to get Dallas or even Memphis flights. I think Austin and SA would be counterproductive unless talking about Southwest. Need to hit HUBs.

  • It might help if the airlines combined flights from Corpus Christi, Larado, the valley through Victoria to Houston, Austin or San Antonio. I have flown in and out of VCT hundreds (first time on a TTA DC-3) of time and always only to IAH or Hobby. This would give more connections in and out of the area, fill seats and lower cost of operation.

  • Yeah...mine was Alexandria,LA. Had two airlines (continental express) and Delta coming out of it. The main city was about this size. Had similar surrounding areas in Shreveport/Bossier, Baton Rouge, New Orleans.

  • I concur with JLordtree- I lived in area appx. same size as Victoria, there was a major airport about 2 hours away. Flight service is critical to growth-
I agree DFW should be the hub of destination, Houston has a good choice of connecting flights, but DFW is considerable more flexible
Hopefully the bidding process will produce a good carrier.
I flew one to five times a week- local service was much needed.
The carriers in the area offered service to DFW, Atlanta, or St. Louis.

  • I used to live in a town this exact size that gave service to multi state airline travel (and yes they had nearby major HUBs). Until the city grows up and gets vision, air travel here will struggle. VIC to Houston is a stupid route. yes keep that route, but why not expand to Dallas where you can offer connections to multi hubs. Then as traffic increases have jet travel. the community I came from had regular jet flights to Memphis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston and Dallas. If you think one route that takes longer than to drive is the way to go, get some glasses and get vision.
