Red Rage you are a funny guy! lmao.....Maybe not a bad "school district", but that side of town is one of the worst SA has to offer! Dude, people don't beat the door down to move into Harlandale ISD...lol
If you want to know about Mr. Jaklich's education background and why he was chosen as our new Superintendent go to the HarlandaleISD and search for the name and profile. He had nothing to do with the incident that occurred at the Harlandale vs Victoria East Soccer Team nor can he control what the kids do outside of the School Campus. How these players will be disciplined is decided by the School Principal and the Coaches.
We have all played "a part " in messing up our world, our country, our state, city, homes, marriages, churches etc. We all need to do our part to help repair it. Look at the condition of our nation, and families, these condition can and do affect our children, schools and community. Lets encourage superintindent, teachers, parents and students to aim high. :))
I wondered if that was the same school district. Better to say its not all the parents, cause some just don't care. Leave message after message, send note after note about lit' Johnny's behavior and grades with no response. But don't allow class snack one day bam suddenly you hear from lil' Johnny's parents. Or a child who you call contact number after contact number and no answers or return calls. Or li' susie heads out the class but you can't stop her because only those specially trained can do that. Teachers are suppose to teach and be able to control their classes but have lost all tools to do so. Maybe this guy has some new tricks up his sleeve.
At the end of the East H.S. Boys Soccer Team's 1-0 Sectional Playoff win at Harlandale, in San Antonio, a fight broke out. Eyewitnesses claim that some Harlandale players started the fight midway through the post-game handshake ritual.
I hope HE doesn't bring this to Victoria. Who would of thought!
I know Mr. Jaklich. He will be a great leader for VISD. Good luck!
It not the parents, it the teachers/principles who refuse to follow the rules that make it awful. Things happen at the schools that no one knows about unless its happening to your child or someone who is close enough to you and tells you.
For people who don't have special needs children just imagine this:
The Para/Aide slipping up and telling you that your child made it from Chandler all the way down Salem to Dr. Kirby's office.
Your childs teacher calling you telling you that your child was found outside by another teacher. When you go in for a meeting with the school, the vice principal denies it and says it never happened.
The Para/Aide tells you that the teacher/other Aide pulls the chair out from under a child, while she is sitting in the chair, and the child falls on the floor.
A Para force feeding a non-verbal/CP child and when the child pushes the food back out the Para yelled at him to stop and just eat the food.
Finding out that your child (3 yrs old) walked away from Profit to Ben Jordan before the child gets the child gets found.
Your child has come home with:finger print bruises on their arms & legsPalm size bruises on their faceBruises on their back sideFingernail cuts in the arms leaving scars
Parents of other children finding special need children walking around the parking lot of a school when school has been let out.
There are many more stories of abuse happening in our small town. Its not all the teachers/principals but the ones who continue to do bad makes it look bad as a whole. I wish Mr. Jaklich the best of luck and hope he is able to turn our ISD around too.
No Harlandale is not a bad School District every District has certain problems they deal with daily but Mr. Jaklich has a very impressive biography you can read on line by googling the Harlandale ISD. Maybe he will bring his Special Ed Director with im she is awesome!
I lived in SA from 04-07...Harlandale is not that bad of a school district.
the real challenge with visd is the parents, imo
visd is full of wonderful, dedicated principals and teachers.
This is wonderful maybe now he can put an end to Parents filing Lawsuits due to the poor way the Special Dept is being run and the SpecialStudents are falling through the cracks and not getting a proper education. I wish Mr. Jaklich the best he's taking on a real challenge with VISD!
If he has been at Harlandale for that many years, he's not only a good superintendent, he's also a very brave man.
