Woman hurt in two-vehicle wreck (video)
A 51-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center on Friday after a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Ben Jordan and Crestwood streets.
Sheila Thomas, whose residence was not available, was sitting in the back of a Ford Escape when it crashed. She complained of head pain, senior patrol officer James Collins said.
The Escape, driven by Soraya Parkinson, whose age was not available, was traveling in the left lane on Crestwood and turned to go north on Ben Jordan Street about 5:30 p.m.
At the same time, Cynthia Bourque, no age available, was driving a gold Toyota Camry straight through the intersection.
"They both said they stopped at the stop sign, and both said they had the right-of-way," Collins said.
The Ford Escape sustained damage to its side, and its right rear tire was flat. The Toyota Camry's hood was crumpled.
No ticket was issued because there were no third-party witnesses, Collins said.
Victoria police, fire and EMS responded, diverted traffic and cleared the scene within 30 minutes.
