Nowhere else can you whet your palate and snag a pet palette at the same time.

On Thursday, the Dorothy O'Connor Pet Adoption Center will host "Pet Palette," a wine reception and art reception with a twist.

The art on display - and for sale - is painted by the shelter animals.

The event will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marsha Shanklin Education Building next to the shelter, 135 Progress Drive.

Tickets are $35 and include a complimentary glass of wine from Braman Winery and hors d'oeuvres from Sky Restaurant.

"All My Friends are Flakes: Christmas Calories V," created by Dee Lynn Braman and friends will also be available for sale.

Helton Art from San Antonio will be on hand to schedule a portrait of your pet.

Entertainment will be provided by harpist Scott DeVos.

RSVP to 361-575-8573 or petadoptions@docpac.net.
