Obama doesn't measure up to Kennedy

Editor, the Advocate:

On October 24, the Advocate printed a column by Jim Bishop reliving the 13 days of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Bishop wrote, "President Kennedy spoke to the nation in prime time. He appeared strong and steadfast, and that was somewhat reassuring to the country.... "

At Kennedy's direction, the U.S. Navy threw a blockade around Cuba. In the end, the Soviets blinked and turned their ships around at sea.

Can you imagine the Cuban Missile Crisis with Barack Hussein Obama in the Oval Office? We have learned that our people in Benghazi pleaded three times for help and three times were turned down; indeed ordered to "stand down." To their eternal credit, some of our CIA people defied orders and went to help and got some of our people out. The CIA director says, "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate." Since the orders did not come from Langley, they had to have come from the White House.

The election is near. We should all ask ourselves if THIS is the president we want for the next four years.
