Aransas National Wildlife Refuge will do a presentation on the 2011-12 whooping crane season at 10 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Austwell.

Brad Strobel, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge biologist, will discuss the new method and technology being used to survey the population of this highly endangered bird. The presentation will emphasize the aerial survey methods used historically and currently to count the Aransas-Wood Buffalo flock of whooping cranes. The 30-minute presentation will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session.

The refuge is located six miles south of Austwell on Farm-to-Market Road 2040.
