Reader glad to hear of goose's rescue
Editor, the Advocate:
I was pleased to read the follow up article by Dianna Wray regarding the goose at the Victoria duck pond. My 2-year-old and my 4-year-old grandson were pleased to know that the goose is now going to be OK. We have been to the pond on several occasions, and the pond has been filthy and littered with droppings from the ducks and geese. I hope that the city will maintain the pond in a much cleaner condition from now on. I, too, have seen trash littered all over the pond area and plastic bags floating in the pond as well. And the pond scum around the edges is just not a pretty sight. One thing that the city might consider is putting a feeder like they have at the zoo so that the ducks and geese can eat more than just stale bread. It would be healthier, and I believe we would not mind paying a few cents for healthy feed for them. Kudos to the city crew who rescued the goose.
