Businesses taking donations for victims

Toyota of Victoria is joining forces with WBAI 99.5 FM New York and Michael Holmes-Sanchez to start a donation collection in Texas to personally send to the boroughs hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, such as Brooklyn, The Bronx, Coney Island, Sea Gate and Brighton Beach who are still without power and gas.

These hard-hit areas are in need of items, like blankets, gloves, socks, jackets, sweaters, long johns, sweat pants, in all sizes for adults and children. These areas are also requesting warm baby clothing of all sizes. If used, items need to be clean. Items can be new or slightly used, but clean, please.

Donations may be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. now through Monday, Nov. 19, at 5902 N. Navarro St.
