Why did you become a veterinarian?

I was involved in FFA, had three grand champion steers and the love of animals. I was raised on the farm. When I was growing up, we worked horses and mules before we had tractors.

How long have you been working with animals?

Life - 60 years DVM

What is the best part of your job?

Just want to help the animals

What has been your most memorable experience as an animal doctor?

My wife, Pauline, and I worked on four cows to give them C-sections - all in one day.

What is the most exotic animal you've worked on?

I had to give two Bengal tiger cubs injections. They were 3 or 4 months old. At first, we turned them loose in the clinic, and then they behaved.

What are three things that you could not live without?

Family, friends and Jesus Christ.
