I really enjoy your trivia columns and was hoping you could share some more.

Trivia is my weakness, enjoy.

Did you know ... Every year 90 percent of your body is completely remade by the foods you eat? . That when you remove water from grapes, you get raisins, and when you remove water from your body, you get wrinkles? . That a magnesium deficiency either precedes or follows nearly every disease? . That the human tongue has more than 10,000 taste buds that replace themselves every 10 days? ... That the amount of carbon in the human body is enough to fill 9,000 lead pencils? ... That Norway consumes more spicy Mexican food than any other European nation? ... That herring is the most widely eaten fish in the world? ... That symptoms are signals that the body is adapting its functions to survive?... and, that like your fingerprints, everyone has a different tongue print?

As I get older, I find myself worried about aging. Is there a secret for aging gracefully?

Age is not the enemy - illness is. The mirror may tell us we are older, but the passage of time is not what ages us. It is the process that reduces the number of healthy cells in our bodies.

Cells themselves do not age - they are sloughed off as their efficiency diminishes, gradually being replaced by new cells. With a healthy lifestyle and the proper nutrients, the restoration of cells can continue for many years beyond the current life expectancy.

A diet of chemical-ladened, genetically modified and microwaved foods, as well as environmental pollutants that cause nutritional deficiencies, overuse of alcohol, prescription drugs and antibiotics and a lifestyle that includes smoking are all ingredients for diminished health and failure of our dreams in our silver years.

According to Dr. Linda Page, 85 percent of the population over 65 years old in industrialized nations today is chronically ill, usually with arthritis, heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure. If stress is piled on top of poor health, our mind and spirit suffer also. This is a prescription for aging.

If there is a secret for longevity, it is a nutrition-rich diet because nutritional deficiencies accelerate age-related disorders and disrupt our internal environment.

Thought for the week: It is not the years in your life that count - rather it is the life in your years.
